Meet Nicolas, Reunited with 10 Siblings He Never Knew Existed

The Discovery

Nicolas, born in Craiova in 1998 and raised in Paris as the only child of his adoptive parents, contacted us with a valuable collection of adoption documents. Thanks to these records, we were able to trace his biological family in record time — perhaps the fastest case our association has ever solved. Within just 30 minutes, we managed to reach one of his sisters. It was an immense joy for both Nicolas and us to deliver the news: his biological parents were alive, and he had ten siblings! As always, Nicolas’s first questions were whether his family knew of his existence and if they had thought of him. Over the years, they had tried to find him, visiting the orphanage where he had been placed after birth. Tragically, they had been told he had passed away. The happiness of discovering he was alive and had a beautiful life in France was indescribable.

The Reunion

After emotional video calls with his entire biological family, Nicolas decided to travel to Romania. We accompanied him and his adoptive mother on this extraordinary journey. For one week, we traveled from Craiova to Bucharest, visiting places tied to his early life. At the former orphanage, now a hospital, traces of the 1990s were still visible. Nicolas met his siblings and parents, and had the chance to sit among them, look into their eyes, and ask the questions he had carried for years.

Homecoming

The reunion culminated in a surprise birthday party at his parents’ home, filled with love, laughter, and memories. For Nicolas, it was more than a celebration — it was the rediscovery of his roots. We continue to keep in touch, exchanging messages every now and then, and look forward to returning together to Craiova.

Nicolas’s journey shows the heart of our mission: reuniting families separated for decades and restoring the bonds they thought were lost forever.
